Energy Distributor (ED) is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration and oil-testing laboratory based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a branch in Al Khobar. Despite the name, it is not an electricity or energy utility. It calibrates and repairs test and measurement instruments, tests transformer oil and fuel, performs high-voltage partial discharge testing, and sells and rents test equipment. It has operated since 2009.

Yes. Energy Distributor holds ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from IAS (testing TL-738, calibration CL-182) and from the Saudi Accreditation Center, SAAC (testing N-T-00080, calibration N-C-00093), as well as ISO 9001:2015 certification. The SAAC accreditations can be verified on the SAAC public register.

Four things set it apart: dual international and national ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation covering both calibration and testing; approved-vendor status with Saudi Aramco and the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC); a record of more than 75,000 calibrations since 2010 covering over 30,000 instrument records across 19 disciplines; and an accredited transformer-oil laboratory under the same roof, so electrical, mechanical and oil work are handled by a single partner.

Yes. The accredited oil laboratory covers 42 test parameters in five categories: physical and chemical properties, electrical properties such as breakdown voltage and dissipation factor, dissolved gas analysis (ASTM D3612 / IEC 60567), particle count (ISO 4406) and furan analysis (ASTM D5837 / IEC 61198). Sampling can be done on site or samples can be sent to the laboratory.

Yes. Energy Distributor is an approved vendor for calibration and testing services with Saudi Aramco and with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), and serves utilities, contractors, oil and gas, aviation, manufacturing and healthcare customers across the Kingdom.

Yes. The rental fleet holds more than 250 calibrated instruments in 14 categories, including tan delta testers, hipots, partial discharge and high-voltage test sets, relay and circuit-breaker test sets, cable fault locators, insulation and earth testers, oscilloscopes, calibrators, oil and SF6 equipment and load banks. Energy Distributor is also an authorized sales and service centre for brands such as Megger, OMICRON, Phenix Technologies, SMC, Tinsley, MBW, ZERA and Gossen Metrawatt.
